Maximum 30 seconds
Do all cameras have a limit of 30 seconds exposure? Not all, but it's pretty close.
First I've set it to show only the more serious cameras (APS-C or fullframe), because these are the ones I expect to allow setting values more freely.
This gives me a total of 246 cameras:
Then let's see how many of these allow setting the camera to "30 seconds or longer". It's pretty much all of them (as of 2016):
Then let's see how many of these allow setting the camera to "60 seconds or longer":
Only 11 cameras left now. There seems to be quite a consensus across brands that 30 seconds is maximum.
For most of these cameras you can buy an external gadget that lets you use the "bulb" mode to reach longer exposures, so obviously the cameras are capable of handling longer exposures than 30 seconds.
