FlashFXP setupThis document shows how to get proper auto-resume when downloading from unstable servers. Settings may have to be altered for very slow connections (dial-up etc.). FlashFXP is definately my favorite FTP client for Windows. If you are using FlashFXP 3.x or newer, you must ensure that these two settings are exactly like the following image: 
Alternatively you could do it under the site manager (press F4): 
It's also a good idea to check that your settings are somewhat like following - especially the connection settings. Check the four values in the middle of this pic: 
Notice the "Stop and resume... " and "Restore broken Transfers... " values: 
The important ones are is Destination "Smaller". They should be "Auto Resume". The rest is more a matter of taste:
