Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Opeb |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is a cold planet planet with a mass one-thousandth that of rho CrB, but two-and-a-half times that of all the other planets in its solar system combined. Opeb and Ekaja'tepog are cold planets rich in rock. This planet is named after the deity Opeb, the creator of nature.
When viewed from Earth, this proximity to rho CrB means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
An observer on Opeb would therefore see only one day every four years.
It may have had ammonia oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect.
The rotational period and seasonal cycles of Opeb are likewise similar to those of Ekaja'tepog, as is the tilt that produces the seasons.
Surrounding Opeb is a vast planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere.
Wind speeds can reach 68 metres per second. |
