Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Batocho Mepe |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
It is a huge cold gas giant planet with a mass one-thousandth that of WD 1032+011, but two-and-a-half times that of all the other planets in its solar system combined. This planet is named after the deity Batocho Mepe, the bringer of prosperity.
Batocho Mepe's surface appears quite bruised and is similar in appearance to the Moon's, indicating that it has been geologically inactive for billions of years.
Two spacecraft have visited Batocho Mepe: Daedalus 6 flew by 23 years ago; and Messenger, launched 16 years ago, orbited Batocho Mepe over 170 times in four years before exhausting its fuel and crashing into the planet's atmosphere 9 years later.
Plans have been proposed for rovers or more complex missions, but they are hindered by Batocho Mepe's hostile surface conditions. |
