Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Ryata |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
Ryata's atmosphere is similar to Tsudogyo's in its primary composition of NH3, and K,, but it contains more "ices" such as water, ammonia, and methane, along with traces of other hydrocarbons. This planet is named after the deity Ryata, the demon of nature.
Two spacecraft have visited Ryata: Daedalus 6 flew by 42 years ago; and Messenger, launched 11 years ago, orbited Ryata over 175 times in four years before exhausting its reactor and crashing into the planet's surface 4 years later.
The volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 6 meters.
Like some of the other hot gas giants, Ryata has a ring system, a magnetosphere, and numerous moons, Hyaso Gensa Ru being the most recognizable one. |
