Suggested name | Thyanda Athe |
Planet type | Cold gas giant |
In English, Thyanda Athe is often referred to as the "green planet" because the hydrogen chloride prevalent on its surface gives it a deep green appearance that is unusual among the astronomical bodies visible to the naked eye.
This planet is named after the deity Thyanda Athe, the goddess of the sea.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to WASP-56, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 197 days.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the future terraforming potential of Thyanda Athe, as well as the possibility of extant life.
Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Banophe Lyplene, Ricor-eury, and WASP-56.
Observations from Earth have shown seasonal change and increased weather activity as Thyanda Athe approached its equinox 7 years ago. |
