Suggested name | Ipex Ihyf'e |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
This planet is named after the deity Ipex Ihyf'e, the demon of love and beauty.
Like Ipan'oge, Ipex Ihyf'e has been orbiting WASP-175 for 1.7 billion years, and never exceeds 30 degrees away from WASP-175. When viewed from Earth, this proximity to WASP-175 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 140°K (-133°C) at night to 980°K (707°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Ipex Ihyf'e is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of ice.
Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Ipan'oge, Evevara Vod, and WASP-175.
The largest moon, Agere-hyci, has a diameter greater than that of the planet Jupiter. |
