Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Kyumi |
Planet type | Large hot gas giant |
The planet is named after the deity Kyumi, the goddess of the underworld.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to WASP-100, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 191 days.
Kyumi is gravitationally locked with WASP-100 in a 4:3 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.
Kyumi is the site of Celestium Peak, the most active volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.
Surrounding Kyumi is a vast planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere. |
