Suggested nameKoeto
Planet typeHot gas giant
The planet is named after the deity Koeto, the spirit of destruction.

As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly two times for every five revolutions it makes around TOI-4463.

Its orbital eccentricity is the largest of all known planets in its solar system; at perihelion, Koeto's distance from TOI-4463 is only about two-thirds (or 92 pct) of its distance at aphelion.

It may have had carbon dioxide oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect. The carbon dioxide has probably photodissociated, and the free 2H2O has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a ammonium hydrosulfide (NH4SH) layer.

Koeto is the site of Celestium Mons, the most active volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.

The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.

Its north and south poles, therefore, lie where most other planets have their equators.
