Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Axame-m |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
Axame-m is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth. Axame-m is orbiting TOI-2421 every 4.3 Earth days.
This planet is named after the deity Axame-m, the demon of fear.
When viewed from Earth, this proximity to TOI-2421 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
It is radically different from Earth in other respects. It has the densest atmosphere of the known hot gas giants, consisting of huge amounts of ammonia.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 405 kilometers across when Axame-m is closest because of Earth's atmosphere. |
