Suggested name | Chwu Lox |
Planet type | Warm planet |
Chwu Lox is the smallest and most round planet in its solar system.
It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 58°K (-215°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with nitric oxide thought to make up the lowest clouds, and ethane the uppermost layer of clouds. This warm planet is named after the deity Chwu Lox, the messenger of fear.
Two spacecraft have visited Chwu Lox: Frontier 8 flew by 15 years ago; and Messenger, launched 15 years ago, orbited Chwu Lox over 125 times in four years before exhausting its reactor and crashing into the planet's surface 5 years later.
Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Cyue Sying, Ertwanb-yue, and TOI-2076.
The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries. |
