Suggested name | Zokyu |
Planet type | Cold planet |
In English, Zokyu is often referred to as the "brown planet" because the hydrogen peroxide prevalent on its surface gives it a dark brown appearance that is recognizable among the astronomical bodies visible to the naked eye. It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Kyasen Zoro, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, sometimes, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.
The interior of Zokyu is mainly composed of ices and molten metal. It is named after the deity Zokyu, the god of the sea.
The formaldehyde has probably photodissociated, and the free molecular hydrogen has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a hydrogen deuteride (HD) layer.
The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in Earth's oceans. |
