Suggested name | Hyoryo'nyo |
Planet type | Large cold gas giant |
In English, Hyoryo'nyo is often referred to as the "green planet" because the methane prevalent on its surface gives it a strange green appearance that is unusual among the astronomical bodies visible to the naked eye.
The planet is named after the deity Hyoryo'nyo, the messenger of love and beauty.
Hyoryo'nyo's surface appears slightly cratered and is similar in appearance to the Moon's, indicating that it has been geologically inactive for billions of years.
Plans have been proposed for rovers or more complex missions, but they are hindered by Hyoryo'nyo's strong magnetosphere.
Two of Hyoryo'nyo's moons, Jarachi're and Jube, are are very irregularly shaped. These may be captured asteroids similar to Eureka.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of methane ice.
One of this planet's scary moons is occupied by aggressive primordial humanoids known to survive by killing a substance called "Nyujushi'kyo" in the shade. Most Shuwa Kopya-chu are somewhat related to the Pyunya but have 11 tentacles and vary in size from 70 to 130 meters. Shuwa Kopya-chu are able to live at temperatures from 90 to 190°C and stormy weather which is rare on this planet. |
