The planet is named after the deity Mipche, the spirit of the sea.
It has the densest atmosphere of any huge cold gas giants, consisting of huge amounts of 2H2O. Mipche is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 218°K (-55°C).
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Skabos, Dome Raxfran, and @STARNAME. |
