Suggested name | Shasuuhe-po |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
Shasuuhe-po is similar in composition to Agayuchu, and both have different bulk chemical composition from that of the larger huge cold gas giants. It is named after the deity Shasuuhe-po, the bringer of good fortune.
Like Agayuchu, Shasuuhe-po has been orbiting @STARNAME for @STARAGE billion years, and never moves more than 16 degrees away from @STARNAME.
Shasuuhe-po is gravitationally locked with @STARNAME in a 4:3 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system. As seen from @STARNAME, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.
Shasuuhe-po is a huge cold gas giant and is sometimes called Earth's "sister planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to @STARNAME, and bulk composition. Shasuuhe-po is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 587°K (314°C).
The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 29 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Shasuuhe-po due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 6 percent of Agayuchu's, except at the highest elevations for short periods. |
