Suggested name | Hionn Ano |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
It is a huge cold gas giant planet with a mass one-thousandth that of SCR 1845, but two-and-a-half times that of all the other planets in its solar system combined. This planet is named after the deity Hionn Ano, the goddess of prosperity.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 105°K (-168°C) at night to 665°K (392°C) during the day across the equatorial regions. The polar regions are constantly below 297°K (24°C).
The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in Lake Superior.
In late February 3500, Hionn Ano was visited by the New Horizons probe, which used Hionn Ano's gravity to increase its speed and bend its trajectory en route to Hoexire'ron. |
