Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Izide'laq |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
It is a huge cold gas giant planet with a mass one-thousandth that of ROXs 12, but two-and-a-half times that of all the other planets in its solar system combined. This planet is named after the deity Izide'laq, the demon of chaos.
The polar regions are constantly below 90°K (-183°C).
Plans have been proposed for rovers or more complex missions, but they are hindered by Izide'laq's hostile surface conditions.
Izide'laq is the site of Titanic Mons, the tallest volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.
Because of its fast rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). |
