Suggested name | Ketrin Re |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
Orbiting within Liaanan's orbit, Ketrin Re is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from Qatar-6 A; its maximum angular distance from Qatar-6 A (elongation) is 60 degrees.
This planet is named after the deity Ketrin Re, the bringer of the underworld.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly two times for every two revolutions it makes around Qatar-6 A.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 130°K (-143°C) at night to 735°K (462°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
The latest probe to visit the planet is Pioneer, which entered into orbit around Ketrin Re after a lengthy trip.
Wind speeds can reach 108 metres per second. |
