Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Youyei |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
Youyei is the smallest and most crater filled planet in its solar system.
This planet is named after the deity Youyei, the bringer of dreams.
At this time it may appear as a bright star-like object, but is often far more difficult to observe than Yaohwen.
An observer on Youyei would therefore see only one summer every four years.
Youyei was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of ice. In November 3100, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Youyei.
The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.
In late February 2400, Youyei was visited by the New Horizons probe, which used Youyei's gravity to increase its speed and bend its trajectory en route to Yaohwen. |
