Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Chope Sukyo He |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
When viewed from Shubyo, Chope Sukyo He can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. The planet is named after the deity Chope Sukyo He, the bringer of the sea.
When viewed from Shubyo, this proximity to OGLE-2018-BLG-1489 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
It is radically different from Shubyo in other respects.
The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in the Black Sea.
Because of its rapid rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator).
Chope Sukyo He has been explored on several occasions by robotic spacecraft, most notably during the early Pioneer and Wayfinder flyby missions and later by the Galileo orbiter. |
