Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Hemeal Pro |
Planet type | Cold gas giant |
When viewed from Prax Eriron, Hemeal Pro can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. This planet is named after the deity Hemeal Pro, the messenger of dreams.
It is radically different from Prax Eriron in other respects. Hemeal Pro is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light.
Hemeal Pro's hazy atmosphere make observation of its surface impossible in visible light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 22 years ago.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Hemeal Pro due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 4 percent of Earth's, except at the lowest elevations for limited periods. |
