Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Dene-hiauto |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
This planet is named after the deity Dene-hiauto, the god of the sea.
Dene-hiauto is a huge cold gas giant and is sometimes called Earth's "sister planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to OGLE-2016-BLG-1190L, and bulk composition.
Plans have been proposed for rovers or more complex missions, but they are hindered by Dene-hiauto's strong magnetosphere.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Dene-hiauto due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 5 percent of Earth's, except at the highest elevations for limited periods.
Because of its rapid rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). |
