| Mefangq-er is similar in composition to Erwweiw Ouc, and both have different bulk chemical composition from that of the larger small cold gas planets. The planet is named after the deity Mefangq-er, the bringer of the sea.
Two spacecraft have visited Mefangq-er: Frontier 4 flew by 18 years ago; and Messenger, launched 10 years ago, orbited Mefangq-er over 110 times in four years before exhausting its reactor and crashing into the planet's atmosphere 5 years later.
Mefangq-er is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Mefangq-er due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 7 percent of Erwweiw Ouc's, except at the lowest elevations for limited periods.
Mefangq-er can easily be seen from Erwweiw Ouc with the naked eye, as can its orangeish coloring.
Its north and south poles, therefore, lie where most other planets have their equators. |
