| Nwugoyann has been known to astronomers since the beginning of the space age. When viewed from Twenzhyo-z, Nwugoyann can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. This large hot gas giant is named after the deity Nwugoyann, the god of hate.
At this time it may appear as a bright star-like object, but is often far more difficult to observe than Twenzhyo-z. The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to NGTS-9, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 133 days.
It may have had ammonium hydrosulfide (NH4SH) oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect.
Its north and south poles, therefore, lie where most other planets have their equators. |
