Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Dakya |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
Dakya is the only habitable planet orbiting MOA-2019-BLG-008L and one of the largest in its solar system. This huge cold gas giant is named after the deity Dakya, the goddess of war.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Dakya due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 8 percent of Raguzayu Ke's, except at the lowest elevations for short periods.
The Dakya system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. In 1291, images from Frontier 9 showed Dakya as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other huge cold gas giants. |
