Yanzh-wen is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Yanzh-wen due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 5 percent of Earth's, except at the lowest elevations for limited periods.
A prominent result is the "great yellow spot", a giant storm that is known to have existed for centuries since it was first detected by scanner. |
