Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Omwatying |
Planet type | Hot planet |
In English, Omwatying is often referred to as the "black planet" because the H2O, prevalent on its surface gives it a dark black appearance that is recognizable among the astronomical bodies visible to the naked eye.
The planet is named after the deity Omwatying, the messenger of war.
As seen from LTT 1445A, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 125°K (-148°C) at night to 1155°K (882°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Omwatying is a hot planet and is sometimes called Earth's "sister planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to LTT 1445A, and bulk composition.
In November 1500, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Omwatying.
Omwatying can easily be seen from Yanglyo'gyin with the naked eye, as can its blackish coloring. |
