Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Tocye'chyan |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
It has the longest rotation period (445 days) of any planet in its solar system and rotates in the opposite direction to most other planets.
Tocye'chyan is the oldest planet known belonging to LHS 6176 A and one of the oldest in its solar system. This huge cold gas giant is named after the deity Tocye'chyan, the god of fear.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 120°K (-153°C) at night to 1120°K (847°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the future terraforming potential of Tocye'chyan, as well as the possibility of extant life.
Observations from Earth have shown seasonal change and increased weather activity as Tocye'chyan approached its equinox 4 years ago. |
