Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Kyumyagyo |
Planet type | Cold planet |
This cold planet is named after the deity Kyumyagyo, the god of fear.
When viewed from Earth, this proximity to Kepler-97 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
It may have had hydrogen deuteride (HD) oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect.
Kyumyagyo's thick clouds make observation of its surface difficult in visible light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 22 years ago.
The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in Lake Superior.
Like many of the other cold planets, Kyumyagyo has a ring system, a magnetosphere, and numerous moons, Nanaabu Gyuwagu being the least studied one. |
