Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Damalcor |
Planet type | Cold planet |
The planet is named after the deity Damalcor, the spirit of destruction.
Damalcor is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 457°K (184°C).
Damalcor was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
Damalcor's dense clouds render observation of its surface impossible in infrared light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 68 years ago.
The largest moon, Gatika-rhearosa, has a diameter greater than that of the planet Mars.
Observations from Earth have shown seasonal change and increased weather activity as Damalcor approached its equinox 5 years ago. Wind speeds can reach 144 metres per second. |
