Suggested nameRetsu
Planet typeCold planet
This cold planet is named after the deity Retsu, the messenger of the sky.

When viewed from Noyau, this proximity to Kepler-929 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning. The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to Kepler-929, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 174 days.

Two spacecraft have visited Retsu: Frontier 7 flew by 39 years ago; and Messenger, launched 20 years ago, orbited Retsu over 105 times in four years before exhausting its plasma drive and crashing into the planet's atmosphere 11 years later.

It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.

Surrounding Retsu is a vast planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere.
