Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Dixikal Lind |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It has the longest rotation period (445 days) of any planet in its solar system and rotates in the opposite direction to most other planets.
It is a cold planet planet with a mass one-thousandth that of Kepler-884, but two-and-a-half times that of all the other planets in its solar system combined. Dixikal Lind is similar in composition to Theece Palene, and both have different bulk chemical composition from that of the larger cold planets. It is named after the deity Dixikal Lind, the spirit of prosperity.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Dixikal Lind due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 3 percent of Theece Palene's, except at the highest elevations for short periods. In November 2000, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Dixikal Lind.
The Dixikal Lind system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. |
