Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Bobaguchu |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Bobaguchu is similar in composition to Shago, and both have different bulk chemical composition from that of the larger cold planets. For this reason, scientists often classify Bobaguchu and Shago as "cold planets" to distinguish them from the other planets. This planet is named after the deity Bobaguchu, the goddess of love and beauty.
Bobaguchu was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
As the closest planet to Shago, Bobaguchu has been a prime target for early interplanetary exploration.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of ice.
Future targets for exploration in the Bobaguchu system include the probable ice-covered liquid ocean of its moon Rupe.
In 3376, images from Daedalus 4 showed Bobaguchu as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other cold planets. |
