Suggested name | Aokyong |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Aokyong is the smallest and innermost planet in its solar system.
This cold planet is named after the deity Aokyong, the god of prosperity.
When viewed from Earth, this proximity to Kepler-802 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
Aokyong is gravitationally locked with Kepler-802 in a 2:1 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.
The methane has probably photodissociated, and the free krypton has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a oxygen layer.
Aokyong can easily be seen from Rangzou-bwa with the naked eye, as can its greenish coloring.
Surrounding Aokyong is a irregular planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere. |
