Suggested name | Bobyu'ryapyu |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Its orbital period around Kepler-794 of 11 earth days is the longest of all the planets in its solar system.
It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 68°K (-205°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with hydrogen thought to make up the lowest clouds, and krypton the uppermost layer of clouds. It is named after the deity Bobyu'ryapyu, the god of hate.
An observer on Bobyu'ryapyu would therefore see only one sunrise every two years.
The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 90 bar, or roughly the pressure found 675 m under the oceans of Earth.
Bobyu'ryapyu is the site of Titanic Ridge, the biggest volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of water.
Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Newozo, Hyota Riku, and Kepler-794.
The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries. |
