Suggested name | Rugyokyu Ebo |
Planet type | Cold planet |
This planet is named after the deity Rugyokyu Ebo, the god of dreams.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 170°K (-103°C) at night to 700°K (427°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 7 bar, or roughly the pressure found 1440 m under the oceans of Shamya-hosho.
Rugyokyu Ebo was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
Surrounding Rugyokyu Ebo is a large planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere.
Like many of the other cold planets, Rugyokyu Ebo has a ring system, a magnetosphere, and numerous moons, Fuhyahyo-pe being the most visible one.
The surface of this harsh planet is entirely populated by small yet interesting insects known to survive in the forest while finding nourishment in something called Neshi-ngu. They are somewhat related to the Shosha but with 10 tentacles and vary in length from 40 to 80 cm. They can reproduce at temperatures from 130 to 230°C but are killed by very low gravity. |
