Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Siar Chal |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
This hot gas giant is named after the deity Siar Chal, the bringer of hate.
At this time it may appear as a bright star-like object, but is often far more difficult to observe than Tripo Teti-si. The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to Kepler-74, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 87 days.
The hydrogen deuteride (HD) has probably photodissociated, and the free hydrogen has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a planetary magnetic field.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of frozen gas.
Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 375 kilometers across when Siar Chal is closest because of Tripo Teti-si's atmosphere.
In 3078, images from Wayfinder 6 showed Siar Chal as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other hot gas giants. |
