| Yewaw-ai and Janshof An are cold planets rich in ice. When viewed from Janshof An, Yewaw-ai can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. The interior of Yewaw-ai is mainly composed of ices and stone. It is named after the deity Yewaw-ai, the spirit of destruction.
Yewaw-ai's dense clouds render observation of its surface impossible in ultraviolet light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 38 years ago.
In November 1300, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Yewaw-ai.
Surrounding Yewaw-ai is a thin planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere. |
