Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Lianus |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Orbiting within Erike'lanaiad's orbit, Lianus is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from Kepler-690; its maximum angular distance from Kepler-690 (elongation) is 38 degrees.
This planet is named after the deity Lianus, the bringer of prosperity.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 115°K (-158°C) at night to 490°K (217°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Lianus was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
A prominent result is the "great orange spot", a giant storm that is known to have existed for centuries since it was first detected by scanner. |
