Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Suki-shakyo Ya |
Planet type | Hot planet |
This planet is named after the deity Suki-shakyo Ya, the spirit of prosperity.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly four times for every three revolutions it makes around Kepler-65.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Suki-shakyo Ya due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 5 percent of Tsugi Zukyo's, except at the highest elevations for limited periods. In November 1800, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Suki-shakyo Ya. The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in Earth's oceans.
Its north and south poles, therefore, lie where most other planets have their equators. |
