Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Mosho |
Planet type | Hot planet |
It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 28°K (-245°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with nitric oxide thought to make up the lowest clouds, and hydrogen chloride the uppermost layer of clouds. The planet is named after the deity Mosho, the bringer of war.
Mosho is gravitationally locked with Kepler-65 in a 5:4 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.
Two spacecraft have visited Mosho: Wayfinder 9 flew by 44 years ago; and Messenger, launched 20 years ago, orbited Mosho over 60 times in four years before exhausting its reactor and crashing into the planet's surface 6 years later.
Two of Mosho's moons, Meworyau and Hyufu, are are slightly unusually shaped. |
