Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Nyurepya |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is named after the deity Nyurepya, the goddess of fear.
When viewed from Wowo, this proximity to Kepler-631 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
Nyurepya is gravitationally locked with Kepler-631 in a 2:1 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of dust.
The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.
Like many of the other cold planets, Nyurepya has a ring system, a magnetosphere, and numerous moons, Bepiki Gite being the least famous one. In 2483, images from Frontier 6 showed Nyurepya as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other cold planets.
The cruel oceans are occupied by hostile earth-like plants, the "Nyashu Sowo", which feed everywhere while devouring another species called Jaryo. They are somewhat related to the Sora but have fur and vary in size from 23 to 56 cm. The Nyashu Sowo are known to survive temperatures from 140 to 220°C and the acidic environment which is common on this planet. |
