| Its orbital period around Kepler-61 of 60 earth days is the longest of all the planets in its solar system.
The planet is named after the deity Kwukyung, the spirit of fear.
The oxygen has probably photodissociated, and the free methane has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a carbon dioxide layer.
Kwukyung is primarily composed of methane with a significant part of its mass being water, though water comprises only about a small amount of the number of molecules.
The latest probe to visit the planet is Juno, which entered into orbit around Kwukyung after a tricky ride.
Planet is mostly inhabitated by odd primordial plants, the "Yebeirao Sh", that feed there by devouring smaller pray at night. They are believed to be related to the Yang but with 6 arms and vary in length from 60 to 140 mm. They are able to reproduce at temperatures from -50 to 10°C and drought which is common near the poles. |
