Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Ouqying'd |
Planet type | Warm planet |
This warm planet is named after the deity Ouqying'd, the bringer of nature.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to Kepler-60, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 133 days.
The polar regions are constantly below 270°K (-3°C).
Ouqying'd is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light.
Ouqying'd's thick clouds render observation of its surface difficult in visible light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 62 years ago.
The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 10 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of water.
Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Yaoxwo, Yuep'yinsho, and Kepler-60.
Because of its rapid rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator).
The latest probe to visit the planet is Racer, which entered into orbit around Ouqying'd after a problematic journey.
This dark planet is dangerous because of the barbaric yet advanced plants, the "Yunr", that spend their life hidden in craters by killing another species called Cefyuy at night. Most Yunr are closely related to Yunq'wan and have 2 arms and vary in size from 60 to 70 meters. Most Yunr are able to live at temperatures from 30 to 120°C and also drought which is common on this planet. |
