Autoper Cal is similar in composition to Gaeon, and both have different bulk chemical composition from that of the larger cold planets. For this reason, scientists often classify Autoper Cal and Gaeon as "cold planets" to distinguish them from the other planets. The interior of Autoper Cal is mainly composed of ices and molten metal. It is named after the deity Autoper Cal, the god of fear.
Autoper Cal's thick clouds render observation of its surface challenging in visible light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 30 years ago.
Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Autoper Cal 1200 and ExoAutoper Cal rovers. In November 2300, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Autoper Cal. The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in the Black Sea.
The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries. |
