Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Garinota |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Its orbital period around Kepler-534 of 16 earth days is the shortest of all the planets in its solar system. It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Seta'chu, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, often, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.
It is named after the deity Garinota, the goddess of nature.
Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Garinota 2000 and ExoGarinota rovers.
Garinota has been explored on several occasions by robotic spacecraft, most notably during the early Pioneer and Wayfinder flyby missions and later by the Hotchins orbiter.
In 1589, images from Daedalus 8 showed Garinota as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other cold planets. Observations from Earth have shown seasonal change and increased weather activity as Garinota approached its equinox 4 years ago. |
