Upupo is the fourth planet from Kepler-509 and the second-smallest planet in its solar system.
Upupo and Jupyawo Shibya are cold planets rich in gas. It is named after the deity Upupo, the bringer of fear.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to Kepler-509, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 162 days.
Its orbital eccentricity is the largest of all known planets in its solar system; at perihelion, Upupo's distance from Kepler-509 is only about two-thirds (or 116 pct) of its distance at aphelion.
The methane has probably photodissociated, and the free formaldehyde has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a planetary magnetic field.
Wind speeds can reach 86 metres per second. |
