Suggested name | Roncalene-mathe |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Roncalene-mathe is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth. Roncalene-mathe is orbiting Kepler-504 every 9.5 Earth days.
This cold planet is named after the deity Roncalene-mathe, the demon of chaos.
Like Lechati-nome, Roncalene-mathe has been orbiting Kepler-504 within Aenome Car's orbit as an inferior planet, and never exceeds 26 degrees away from Kepler-504.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the present habitability potential of Roncalene-mathe, as well as the possibility of extant life. The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in Earth's oceans.
Roncalene-mathe is primarily composed of xenon with a significant part of its mass being hydrogen, though hydrogen comprises only about a tiny fraction of the number of molecules.
Roncalene-mathe has been explored on several occasions by robotic spacecraft, most notably during the early Pioneer and Wayfinder flyby missions and later by the Galileo orbiter. Future targets for exploration in the Roncalene-mathe system include the probable ice-covered liquid ocean of its moon Peherir. |
