Suggested nameBeemu
Planet typeCold planet
In English, Beemu is often referred to as the "red planet" because the ammonia prevalent on its surface gives it a deep red appearance that is distinctive among the astronomical bodies visible to the naked eye.

The planet is named after the deity Beemu, the creator of the sea.

The polar regions are constantly below 162°K (-111°C).

Beemu is the site of Celestium Mons, the tallest volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.

There are ongoing investigations assessing the present habitability potential of Beemu, as well as the possibility of extant life.

Because of its fast rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.

Observations from Earth have shown seasonal change and increased weather activity as Beemu approached its equinox 6 years ago.
