Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Oranjwap |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Oranjwap is the largest and most crater filled planet in its solar system.
The planet is named after the deity Oranjwap, the messenger of the underworld.
It has the densest atmosphere of the two cold planets, consisting of huge amounts of methane.
The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in the Black Sea.
In 3078, images from Wayfinder 5 showed Oranjwap as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other cold planets.
The arid surface is entirely known for its large primordial insects, the "Taogaob", which feed in the air by devouring something called Ywangle'jyun if it is available. They are believed to be closely similar to the Youy but have wings and vary in length from 30 to 45 mm. Most Taogaob can thrive at temperatures from 60 to 90°C and prolonged periods without food. |
